Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Woodmill Trace residents are trying to get a light outside of their neighborhood because it opens straight onto 72. A deceleration lane is currently being built, but they were told by the Department of Transportation that it probably won’t happen. (WHNT)
  2. Madison’s all-county bowling teams have been named. Congrats to all of the students chosen! (Madison Record)
  3. The Walmart on Sparkman has reopened after the fire several days ago. For now, they will only be open 8 a.m.-8p.m. (WAAY)
  4. Athens Mayor's Youth Commission’s “Student Voices” received a $2000 grant. A portion of the funds will be split between student organizations that contribute to Athens, while the other part of the grant will be for the students to give to nonprofits that have projects to benefit Athens. (WAFF)
  5. City Council approved entering into a contract for the second phase of the Sandra Moon Complex project. They are turning the old Grissom High School into a community complex. The contract is for $4.37 million. (WHNT)
