Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- The University Of Alabama In Huntsville’s College of Nursing has been selected by the National League of Nursing as a 2022 Center of Excellence in Nursing Education. They are one of 16 higher education institutes that have been given the distinction this year. (Patch Press Release Desk)
- Sabrina Buettner has been named Hartselle City Schools interim superintendent after a 4-1 vote (with one abstention) in yesterday’s meeting. Buettner spent 36 years working as an administrator for the school system before retiring. (WAFF)
- The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology has started a public-private partnership with the City of Dothan. HudsonAlpha Wiregrass will be created to work on agricultural research, education, and economic development in the area. They will start working in the area on October 1 of this year and the city has plans for an innovation center down the road. (WAFF)
- The University of Alabama at Birmingham is teaming up with Oakwood University. The goal of this partnership will be to help recruit students interested in dentistry to go to UAB’s School of Dentistry and be more prepared. (University of Alabama at Birmingham)
- The Redstone Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol in Huntsville placed second in a national drone competition. This team placed fifth last year and has put in hundreds of hours this year to move up the ranks. (WHNT News 19)
