Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. Wellstone has received a four-year federal grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration. The funding will allow them to start using the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic model, which will make sure there is access to mental health care 24/7/365, as well as coordinating with hospitals, schools and law enforcement and expanding service to provide more care so patients can get everything they need in one place.   2. The United States Postal Service is hosting a job fair today to fill several positions in the area. The event will be at the Huntsville General Mail Facility from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. f0r Rural Carrier Associates, Assistant Rural Carriers, and City Carrier Assistants in several parts of the surrounding area.   3. The Madison Baptist Association had a team of volunteers head out yesterday to go help with clean up efforts after Hurricane Ian. Another team is set to go down next week and help feed those impacted by the storm. (WAFF)
  4. A new restaurant opened over the weekend in Huntsville to expand our options of Indian cuisine! The Curry opened in Five Points at the old Mario’s Pizzeria/ Mullins Restaurant location. (AL.com)
  5. Two faculty members in the College of Nursing at the University of Alabama in Huntsville have been chosen for fellowships with the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Azita Amiri, PhD, and Dr. Yeow Chye Ng, PhD, will both be inducted at a ceremony as part of their Health Policy Conference in Washington D.C. later this month for the 2022 Class of Fellows.
