- The Trash Pandas won the first game in franchise history yesterday against the Chattanooga Lookouts! They came from seven behind to come out on top 10-7. David MacKinnon hit the first home run of the season. (WZDX)
- According to Huntsville Utilities news release at 3:15 this morning, there are still several areas without power after yesterday's storms, as well as an outage in southwest Huntsville that they don't know the cause of. Around 2,700 customers lost power during the storm and according to PowerOutage.us, the count as of 3:50 a.m. is 918. (Huntsville Utilities / PowerOutage.us)
- The new Community Foundation Park on Pelham Avenue is open. It is a collaboration of Huntsville Parks and Recreation and Arts Huntsville and has an art installation surrounded by a sitting area. (WHNT)
- Dawn Lineberger, the woman accused of deceiving people into thinking she had cancer and getting donations, is allegedly continuing to do it from jail. A former friend said that several people were trying to help her prove that she was innocent before Lineberger started changing her story. She is currently in the Madison County Jail. (WAFF)
- The Space and Rocket Center’s Fourth of July fireworks show was cancelled last year, and financial issues from the pandemic have caused the show to be cancelled this year as well. Lynn Broad is the well-loved lead pyrotechnician and would have hit 40 years of Independence Day shows in 2020. According to John Sharp, you can still get your fireworks show because Decatur will still have their Spirit of America Fourth of July festival. (MSN)

- The Alabama NAACP is holding a competition for people that get vaccinated between May 1 and June 21 and the winner will receive $1000. (Details)

- Torch Technologies has committed $60,000 to UAH to name Room N263 in the Olin B. King Technology Hall (OKT/ Tech hall).
- The trial for Officer William Darby wrapped up and the jury started deliberating but adjourned for the night. They will pick back up today at 8:30 a.m. (Details)
- There is a walk-in vaccine clinic May 14 at the Robert “Bob” Harrison Senior Wellness and Advocacy Center from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.
