Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:
- The Madison County Commission donated $50,000 to the Marshall Retirees Association. This will be used to create a memorial to remember the contributions Huntsville made to space exploration, which will probably be at the Space and Rocket Center. (WAAY)
- Redstone Federal Credit Union opened their first branch inside a Madison County School. Hazel Green High School students are being given the chance to learn about finance and banking firsthand. There will be student workers supervised by a teacher. (WHNT)
- A new 2.5 mile runway that will allow large planes to land at the Huntsville International Airport is finished! This was a $23 million project and is only one step in a big plan to keep up with the growth of the city. (WAFF)
- The new noise ordinance goes into effect Friday, ahead of the holidays! This change gave entertainment district outdoor concerts until 11 PM on the weekends and music can go until 1 AM on New Year’s Eve. (WHNT)
- UNA and Drake State have teamed up to help their students! Drake State students won’t have trouble transferring their credits to UNA when they’re ready to pursue a bachelor’s. (Yellowhammer News)
