Here are the top stories in Huntsville today:

  1. The stretch of Winchester Road that is the responsibility of the City of Huntsville isn’t going to be widened until early 2024. The idea for this problem started in 2017, to keep up with the housing and business expansion the road has seen. (WHNT)
  2. The VA Secretary's new infrastructure plan could lead to a new medical center for veterans in Huntsville. No changes will happen soon, since the plans have to be approved by Congress and an independent commission of veteran advocates. (WAAY)
  3. The new Jimmy Gill Park in Athens will be opening soon! According to Mayor Marks, the park will be completed in about 30-45 days, depending on the weather. (WZDX)
  4. March 17 marked two years since the first confirmed COVID-19 case in Madison County. The county has seen almost 90,000 cases and over 900 deaths since the first case two years ago. (WAFF)
  5. The Limestone County Commission voted 4-0 to let Athens Main Street host two weekly markets! Now, instead of the Saturday Market, it will be called the Athens Farmers Market since it will be open on Tuesdays as well as Saturdays. (The Quad-Cities Daily)
