Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:
- There are pavement repairs scheduled for today on I-565. Crews will be working on short sections of the interstate between the bridge over Intergraph way and Exit 7 (County Line Road). The work is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. (WAAY)
- A gun was shot in a bathroom at McDonnell Elementary yesterday. The gun was allegedly brought by a student. The school system did not specify how many students were involved in the incident, but the student(s) will face disciplinary action. (AL.com)
- The Madison City Council is looking at passing a proposed plan to annex the Publix at Clift Farms. They would use the sales tax revenue to fund a westbound ramp that would give access to Town Madison. The ramps are expected to cost $37 million. (AL.com)
- Huntsville City, Madison City and Madison County Schools closed early yesterday ahead of the weather threat along with many other school systems in the Tennessee Valley. Afterschool activities were also canceled. (WAFF)
