State grant to support task force on gangs, gun violence in Prichard (al.com) — Mobile County is receiving a $115,179 state-administered federal grant to bolster the sheriff's office task force tackling gun violence and gang activity in Prichard. The funding helps cover the Mobile County Sheriff's Office taking most police calls there after multiple Prichard officers, including the chief, were arrested amid a corruption probe.
   

2. Ivey Announces $52 Million for Coastal Alabama Projects (wiregrassdailynews.com) — More than $52 million in GoMESA funds are headed to Coastal Alabama, with Mobile landing several of the biggest projects. The City of Mobile's Brookley by the Bay expansion, Upper Mobile Bay wetlands work, and a new county boat ramp highlight investments aimed at recreation, water quality, and long-term coastal resilience.
   

3. Jimmy Buffett Exhibit To Open At National Maritime Museum Of The Gulf (rttnews.com) — Mobile's National Maritime Museum of the Gulf is preparing a major permanent Jimmy Buffett exhibit opening September 12, celebrating his Gulf Coast roots and larger-than-life career. Visitors can explore rare artifacts, immersive concert elements, and evolving stories that highlight Buffett as musician, sailor, author, and philanthropist closely tied to this region.
   

4. Free traumatic brain injury services come to Enterprise with new TBI center (wdhn.com) — Alabama's third Traumatic Brain Injury Center has opened in Enterprise, expanding free services for veterans, Guard members and others living with brain injuries. Mobile residents already have access to one of the original TBI Centers, part of a growing statewide network offering screenings, counseling, peer support and care coordination at no cost.
