Mobile to look at expanding entertainment districts (fox10tv.com) — Mobile residents could soon see the city's entertainment districts expanded to cover the new Regions Arena, if an ordinance before the City Council is approved. The proposal, backed by the mayor and a councilmember, would adjust the official district maps while keeping existing park exclusions in place. The change would take effect after council adoption and legal publication.
   

2. How is dredging work at Langan Park progressing? (fox10tv.com) — Work at Mobile's Langan Park is ramping up, with dredging of the Upper Lake finished and crews now tackling the Lower Lake while hauling out up to 90 dump trucks of sediment daily. Councilwoman Gina Gregory says upcoming phases include reshaping a concrete drainage ditch into a more natural stream and adding new bridges, aiming to improve both the park's health and visitor experience.
   

3. Man dies after shooting outside Mobile lounge (fox10tv.com) — Mobile police are investigating a deadly shooting outside Poinse's Lounge on Navco Road, where a man was found critically wounded early Sunday and later died at a local hospital. Officers quickly arrested 29-year-old DelJuan Thomas on a murder charge, but have not yet released the victim's name. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Mobile Police or submit anonymous tips online or by text.
   

4. Contractors and retailers are on the move in Mobile and Baldwin counties (al.com) — Several new leases and projects are reshaping commercial corners of Mobile, from Hansen Super Techs' new main office on Commerce Boulevard to fresh dining and retail spots on Old Shell and Cottage Hill roads. A Mahjong game hub and Magnolia Soap & Bath Co. are also moving into city shopping centers, while storage and flex developments advance in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.
   

5. Ohio's defense struggles in 41-35 loss at South Alabama (athensmessenger.com) — South Alabama's home game in Mobile saw the Jaguars outlast Ohio 41‑36, with a powerful rushing attack and key defensive stops despite a late Bobcats rally. For local fans, the primetime matchup at Hancock Whitney Stadium showcased South Alabama's offensive firepower and the atmosphere big visiting programs can bring to Mobile's college football scene.
