Working with local outreach ministry First Steps, the platform lets agencies find available rooms and landlords list properties, already matching several people, including one graduate of rehab, with stable housing options.
5. Parade, concert, HBCU summit planned ahead of the Port City Classic (wkrg.com) — Mobile residents can look forward to a full Port City Classic weekend, with an HBCU summit Thursday at the Mobile Convention Center, a big tailgate concert Friday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, and a parade Saturday morning before Tuskegee and Fort Valley State kick off at 4 p.m. Tickets are $35 and include concert admission.
