With more than 75 kids enrolled and up to 250 expected, organizers say rising costs for basics like groceries and housing make this year's support especially important for Montevallo and Shelby County families. 
• Oak Mountain girls, Westminster OM boys win Shelby County XC... (shelbycountyreporter.com) — Shelby County's top cross-country runners just wrapped up their county championships at the University of Montevallo, with Oak Mountain and Westminster OM claiming team titles. While Montevallo's squad raced JV at Gulf Shores, the meet still brought plenty of Shelby County competition onto Montevallo's home turf, highlighting local talent and keeping the town central to the county running scene.
