🌱 Man Sentenced After Striking Ambulance + Family Robotics Team

Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:

  1. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is searching for Tamika Dumas, 46. Dumas is wanted for theft of property in the first degree, trafficking stolen identities, and ten counts of fraudulent use of a credit/debit card. She is described as weighing 242 pounds and being 5'6" tall. Anyone with information is being directed to contact Central Alabama CrimeStoppers. (Alabama News Network)
  2. A team consisting of three siblings has won the state robotics championship. Elijah Yang, Abraham Yang, and Johanna Yang won the 2022 VEX IQ Robotics Alabama State Championship with their father, Soo Seok Yang, as their team coach. Their team was named Team Penguin and it was not affiliated with any one school. (MontgomeryAdvertiser)
  3. Dontorrius Belser has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for causing a wreck that eventually killed an ambulance paramedic in Montgomery. According to the Montgomery County District Attorney, Belser was driving his vehicle at more than 70 miles per hour when he ran a red light at the intersection of Vaughn Road and Eastern Boulevard before striking the ambulance. He has been convicted on charges of reckless murder and two counts of reckless assault in the first degree. (Alabama News Network)
