Troup County officials share severe weather protocols midst Severe Weather Preparedness Week (wrbl.com) — Troup County emergency officials are outlining how they protect LaGrange residents during severe weather, drawing lessons from the Jan. 12 tornado that injured people on the city’s south side. They describe how real-time National Weather Service updates, social media alerts, sirens, and an Emergency Operation Center help target shelters, prioritize 911 calls, and speed first responders to damaged neighborhoods. 
2. LPD searching for suspect in shooting resulting in hospitalized 17-year-old (wrbl.com) — LaGrange police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting that left a 17-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds after he was hit while walking on Daniel Street and later treated at WellStar West Georgia Hospital. Investigators say the suspect is still unknown and are urging anyone with information to contact the LaGrange Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit.

Inmate found dead at the Troup County Jail (wrbl.com) — An inmate housed at the Troup County Jail in LaGrange was found unresponsive in his cell on Feb. 19 and later pronounced dead at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Local and state authorities, including the Troup County Sheriff’s Office and GBI, are conducting parallel investigations into what happened just four days after the 60-year-old man was booked.

(lagrangenews.com) — Hillside Montessori in LaGrange is turning what looks like overgrown grass into a thriving wildflower and native grass meadow that doubles as an outdoor classroom. The low-maintenance project, supported by parents and a controlled burn with the Georgia Forestry Commission, saves the school money while giving students daily hands-on lessons in ecology and land stewardship.
5. LaGrange Academy volleyball cruises to victory in season ope... (lagrangenews.com) — LaGrange Academy’s volleyball team opened its 2026 season in LaGrange with a dominant 3-0 sweep of St. Mary’s, powered by a wave of young talent. Several freshmen and sophomores made key contributions in their varsity debuts, including a new starting setter and two liberos sharing the role under coach Scott Lewis.
