Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:

  1. A Montgomery woman has died in a crash on Interstate 495 Saturday night. According to authorities, 20-year-old Katherine Reyes was found inside her car on the shoulder of the interstate. The impact of the crash caused Reyes' vehicle to ignite. Devon Lesene, 31-years-old, is being charged with DUI manslaughter, DUI, refusal to take a breathalyzer test, and driving on the shoulder.   2. Vice President Kamala Harris walked across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in recognition of Bloody Sunday. The event was recognizing the 600 people who walked across the bridge to Montgomery in 1965 while demanding an end to voter registration discrimination. Vice President Harris called for the federal government to pass voting rights legislation before crossing the bridge. (CNN)
  3. Montgomery native Kezia Istonia performed on American Idol this season. Istonia uses the stage name Lady K and her audition aired on national television in a two-hour episode. Lady K currently lives in Los Angeles and specializes in soul, rap, and R&B. (Alabama.com)
