- Montgomery is the place to be for Halloween this year! There are some seriously spooky events, like the Sleepy Hollow Haunted Farm, or some family-friendly fun, like the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Halloween Spooktacular. (WSFA)
- Cheryl Ransaw of Montgomery is this week's Pay It Forward nominee. Ransaw works as the event coordinator for Women of Hope, a nonprofit organization in Montgomery that provides breast cancer education. (Alabama News)
- The annual Montgomery County Chili Cookoff will be held this weekend. The Capital City Chili Cookoff began in 2004 at the suggestion of then-President Brian Harrington as a way to raise money for the Montgomery Lions Club Community Foundation. This year's cookoff will take place on Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Riverwalk Stadium between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. (Montgomery Lion's Club)
