Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:
- Montgomery Fire Rescue has determined that Angela Davis, 35-years-old, attempted to burn down an apartment complex on Saturday. The incident occurred in the 5600 block of Carmichael Road. Davis has been arrested and charged with first-degree arson by the Montgomery Police Department. (Alabama News Network)
- Judge James Anderson has convicted Kijuan Cortez Flowers, 23-years-old, of capital murder in a deadly shooting in 2016. Flowers fatally shot victim Zhivago Hines, 19-years-old, while in a car outside of his girlfriend's house. Flowers is yet to be sentenced and the motive for the killing has not been clearly established. (WSFA12 News)
- An on-duty deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was taken to the hospital on Saturday after being exposed to a narcotic. The incident occurred near the Wind Creek Casino. The deputy was given doses of Narcan and the Sheriff's Office has not specified which narcotic was consumed. (Elmore Autauga News)
