🌱 Early Childhood Expansion Proposal + Mother Mourns Loss Of Son

Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:
- The Montgomery District Attorney's Office is celebrating its Chief Investigator's thirty years of service within the community. Michael Thomas was the office's first Black Chief Investigator when he was sworn into the position in 2015. In 2014, he was named the Investigator of the Year by the Alabama District Attorney's Association. (Alabama News Network)
- Montgomery residents are calling for an expansion of the state's early childhood education budget to provide quality pre-Kindergarten classes throughout the state. Advocates for the program argue that the pre-Kindergarten classes provide a solid base for students' future success. The proposed budget increase of $22.5 million would raise the total budget to over $171 million. (WSFA12 News)
- The mother of the 3-year-old Montgomery boy who was shot and killed on Sunday is asking the community for help. Kemyasha Green is asking for donations to bury her baby boy and pleads with the community to provide information related to the shooting that could lead to justice for her son. Green has created a GoFundMe campaign for donations and information can be provided to Crime Stoppers or the Montgomery Police Department. (AL.com)
