Here are the top stories today in Montgomery:
- Montgomery police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Thursday night. MPD and fire medics were called to Longleaf Drive after someone was shot. The suspect has not yet been identified. (Alabama News Network)
- The city of Montgomery is continuing plans to renovate the Garrett Coliseum. The coliseum is about 75 years old and is in need of major changes. The plans are to fix lighting and plumbing problems, as well as bring in HVAC units for air-conditioning. (Alabama News Network)
- The GOAT October car, truck, and audio show will be at Evans Park Pavilion on Oct. 23 featuring a car show, vendors, food, and more. (All Events - Montgomery)
- The Court Appointed Special Advocates of Montgomery County will host its first fundraiser today to help grow its program and advocate for foster kids. (WSFA)
- Alabama is working to raise the labor participation rate from 57% to 61% by 2025. (WSFA)
