Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:
- The Montgomery Area Food Bank will be searching for a new CEO after the retirement of its current CEO Richard Deem. The new CEO will be the fourth CEO during the food bank's 36 years of operation. Richard Deem increased the bank's annual food distribution to 31.5 million pounds throughout 35 different counties. (Alabama News Network)
- Richard Roberts, 63, was pronounced dead after his box truck hit a tractor-trailer on Interstate 85 in Montgomery County. The fatal accident occurred approximately 5 miles east of Montgomery on Thursday morning. The Alabama State Troopers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident. - Home Sales in the Montgomery area decreased 8.4 percent last month. The data was provided by the Montgomery Area Association of Realtors. The number of listings increased 9.4 percent since February but was 18.6 percent lower when compared to a year ago. The association reports that home sales are down 5.8 percent nationally compared to this time last year. (Alabama News Center)
