Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:

1. Governor Kay Ivey is awarding $11.1 million in grant money to support low-income households with water costs. The grants will allow community service agencies to help with residential water costs with a focus on helping the elderly, people with disabilities, and families with small children. The Montgomery Community Action Committee and Community Development Corporation Inc will receive $554,236. (WTOK)
2. The dry air that Montgomery residents have been enjoying on St. Patrick's Day will bring the threat of level two severe storms. 3. The Alabama Port Authority has released its Feb. 2022 container volumes report and it shows a significant increase in traffic. According to the report, refrigerated cargo saw a 54.2 percent increase and intermodal rail transfers saw a 12.4 percent increase. The report also details how continued port investment, such as the Montgomery Port investment, will expand capacity at the nation's fastest-growing gateways. (Alabama Political Reporter)
