Here are the top stories in Montgomery today:
1. Mayors of Alabama's 10 largest cities will be meeting in Montgomery on Oct. 24-25 to discuss state and federal legislative priorities. They will also speak on other issues facing their communities. The summit will be held downtown at the Renaissance Hotel. (Alabamanews.net)
2. A reboot of "The Wonder Years" will be filming this week in Montgomery and locals can see the cast in town all week. This classic ABC TV show originally aired in the late '80s and focused on a black family living in Montgomery. The reboot will air on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. on ABC 32. (Alabamanews.net)
3. MacMillan International Academy in Montgomery is one of only five schools in Alabama to be named a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School. The school is also a member of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Schools are chosen by the US Secretary of Education based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. (Ed.gov)
