🌱 Missing Teen Found In Pond + Police Seek To Identify Suspect

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:
- A body found in a local pond has been identified as that of a missing Montgomery teen. LaDarrien Wheat had been missing since Jan. 23 and was last seen in the 3500 block of Foxhall Drive. Local authorities are currently conducting a death investigation, and Wheat's body has been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy. (CBS42)
- The Montgomery Police Department is asking the community for help in identifying a suspect involved in retail store theft on Feb. 7. The suspect is wanted for Theft of Property 1st Degree, or stealing items that exceed $2,500 in value. The suspect fled from the business, located in the 1200 block of W. Eastdale Mall, in a silver vehicle with a Kredit King paper tag. (Elmore Autauga News)
- An Alabama Senate legislative committee has approved a bill that would ban the use of hormone treatments for transgender minors. The bill leaves the Senate Health Committee and will now head towards the full Alabama Senate for debate. Supporters of the bill say that it will protect children while opponents of the bill argue that it will harm children instead of protecting them. (WRBL.com)

- The City of Montgomery shared its appreciation for those who attended the Montgomery Forward press conference. Under the new program, a new 20,000 square foot fire station will be built on West Fairview Avenue. (Twitter)
- Mayor Steven Reed shares what the Montgomery Forward initiative seeks to do for the city. The program is meant to provide a $50 million investment into our community. (Twitter)
