Here are the top stories today in Montgomery:
1. Montgomery-native Henry Ruggs III is facing a felony charge for driving under the influence in Las Vegas early Tuesday morning that led to the death of a woman involved. Ruggs played football at R.E. Lee High School and went on to be a star player for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Ruggs and his passenger were injured in the crash but the injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. (WVTM13)
2. The Montgomery Area Food Bank has reported difficulties due to shortages, supply chain issues, and lack of laborers. The food bank supports 35 of Alabama's 67 counties and will need more support as the holiday season approaches. Those able to help are encouraged to do so on the food bank's webpage. (WSFA)
3. A home daycare owner in Montgomery is facing a wrongful death lawsuit charge following the death of a 7-year-old child. The suit claims that the child was left unattended and not properly restrained in a car seat and was strangled to death after becoming entangled in the car seat's strap. (WSFA)
