Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:
- A fiery crash on Alabama 126 in Montgomery County results in the death of Danielle C. Fitzgerald, 26-years-old. According to Alabama State Troopers, Fitzgerald was driving a Chevy Cruz that collided with a Dodge Ram truck after it crossed the center line. The travelers in the other vehicle were transported to Baptist Medical Center South to receive medical treatment. (Alabama.com)
- A new park is being built in North Montgomery, according to city officials. The park will be built near the Alabama River with trails connecting to the Riverfront Trail and the Riverfront Park. Flowering plants will be throughout the park to encourage pollinators and will pay special attention to birds that visit every season. (WSFA12 News)
- The Kiwanis Club of Montgomery announce the distribution of $317,000 worth of grants made possible by the Alabama National Fair. The fair is the club's annual fundraiser that will support 25 different organizations with the grant money generated this year. Click the story to see which organizations are receiving funds.
