🌱 New Police Chief + Overturned 18-Wheeler Causes Delays

Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:

  1. The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a Sunday morning shooting. According to Police Cpl. McGriff, officers responded to the 2100 block of East South Boulevard to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital and no additional information has been released yet. (WSFA12 News)
  2. The City of Montgomery introduced a new police chief on Monday. Mayor Steven Reed introduced Darryl Albert during a news conference. Albert has over 30 years of law enforcement experience and has most recently served with the New Orleans Police Department. Albert's appointment comes after an extensive national search that resulted in almost 100 top-tier candidates. (Alabama News Network)
  3. Montgomery travelers experienced delays on Highway 231 that were caused by an overturned 18-wheeler. According to the Montgomery Sheriff's Office, the vehicle overturned in the median near Chapel Gray Loop in South Montgomery County. There has been no information released about injuries.
