Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:

  1. The Montgomery County School Board announces that Melvin Brown has been selected as the system's newest superintendent. Brown was chosen during a special called meeting of the Board on Friday.   2. True the Vote will be hosting an Election Integrity Forum on Apr. 27 in Montgomery. The nonpartisan organization is reportedly dedicated to investigating election integrity and is partnering with AmericanInk to host the forum. The event will be at the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. for the event's start time of 7:00 p.m. (Alabama Political Reporter)
  3. Montgomery commuters have been asked to find an alternate route while crews work on Windham Road near U.S. Highway 31. Crews filled in a sinkhole that developed on the roadway in Montgomery County. Residents can contact the Montgomery County Road Department with any questions or roadway maintenance requests.
