Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:
- The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced a list of convictions and guilty pleas spanning multiple years that are finally coming to trial. The cases include those of Mark Robinson, Michael Medlock, Quandaries Watkins, Lavacus Hooks, Jawan Anderson, Arthur Casby, and Kevan Harris. - The City of Montgomery gathered to discuss recent crime rates and responses at Thursday's Office of Violence Prevention roundtable. Tensions grew as the community voiced concerns over the Montgomery Police Department's apparent lack of communication with the community regarding ongoing investigations. The community was seeking information regarding the recent increase in gun violence and how to report gunshots. (WSFA12 News)
- The Montgomery Zoo announced the birth of a new male Eastern Bongo. The newborn was named Klaus and weighs in at twenty-seven pounds. The Eastern Bongo is native to the lowland rainforests of West Africa and has a chestnut-colored coat of fur with horns that grow as high as 36 inches. (Alabama News Network)
