Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:
- A new apprenticeship program between the Alabama Community College System and the Office of Apprenticeship hopes to address recent nursing shortages in the state. The new program will be reportedly similar to an extended practicum but the apprentices will be hired by the hospital and paid for their clinical hours. The first group of apprentices will begin at Coastal Alabama Community College and Gadsden State Community College this summer. (WAFF 48 News)
- A new mural is being painted by French street artist Hopare in downtown Montgomery. The mural is located at Washington Avenue and Court Street. Hopare was invited by MAP MGM to visit the city and to paint a mural that showcased his experience interacting with Montgomery residents. (WSFA12 News)
- An incident near I-85 and I-65 caused delays for southbound travelers, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation. The incident is now cleared and southbound lanes are unblocked. The incident involved two vehicles blocking the right and left shoulders of a ramp. (WSFA12 News)
