Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:

  1. The annual Faith and Politics Institutes Civil Rights Pilgrimage has caused the City of Montgomery to issue road closures through Sunday. Members of Congress, civil rights leaders, and Alabama residents will march through Montgomery. The following link details the road closures and provides timeframes. (Alabama News Network)
  2. The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 100 block of White Frost Drive. One man was left with non-life-threatening injuries and is currently at a local hospital receiving treatment. No additional information has been released regarding the incident. (Alabama News Network)
  3. The Montgomery Motor Speedway will open its gates for the Montgomery 200. The event starts at 4:00 p.m. with tickets available at the gate. The winner of the race will be the recipient of a $10,000 prize along with joining the ranks of past winners like Richard Petty and the Allison brothers. (WSFA12 News)
