Here are the top stories in Montgomery today:
- The Salvation Army gave away free Thanksgiving meals to the homeless population of Montgomery on Thursday afternoon. The meals included traditional Thanksgiving food such as turkey, mac and cheese, stuffing, and dessert. They gave out 150 meals for this Thanksgiving, as well as 100 meals from their mobile canteen. (Alabama News Network)
- Alabama prison inmates will soon be allowed to have visitors for the first time in 20 months, after visitations were suspended in March 2020. There will be a number of restrictions, including only two visitors at a time and no hugs will be allowed. Visitation will resume on Dec. 4, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections. (News Channel 9 ABC)
- St. James coach Jimmy Perry and eleven other honorees are going to be inducted into the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame. With these twelve new inductees, the total number of Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame members will be 377. In 1991, the first-ever group of people was inducted into this Hall of Fame.
