Here are the top stories in Montgomery today:
1. A shooting occurred Tuesday night on Biltmore Avenue, near Federal Drive, that left one woman injured and a man dead according to police. At the scene, they found 24-year-0ld Ivory Brooks, Jr. and an unidentified woman who had both been shot. Police ask any witnesses to come forward. (AlabamaNews.net)
2. Just in time for Halloween, the Haunting at Old Alabama Town welcomes guests for spooky town history tours. Ella Martin, the special events coordinator for Landmarks Foundation of Montgomery, says that the tours will be focused on the history of the people and the buildings in the area. Space is limited and tickets much be purchased in advance from the Landmarks Foundation website. (Montgomery Advertiser)
3. Civil rights pioneer Claudette Colvin was arrested in 1955 at age 15 for refusing to give up her seat for a white person on a Montgomery, Alabama, bus. Now, she's trying to have her record expunged of the arrest. Her legal team will be filing a request with the Montgomery court to clear her name. (CNN)
