Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:

  1. A Montgomery County grand jury has indicted a man for the death of a Montgomery police officer. 26-year-old Brandon Deshawn Webster has been indicted on Thursday of the capital murder of his ex-girlfriend Officer Tanisha Pughsley on Jul. 6, 2020. Investigations have led authorities to believe the shooting was domestic-related. (WSFA12 News)
  2. The Montgomery Police Department is investigating an accident that led to the death of a pedestrian. Police responded to the 1000 block of West South Boulevard to find a woman who had been struck and killed by a vehicle. The driver was not hurt and police have not released any other information regarding the investigation. (Alabama News Network)
  3. The Alabama Supreme Court has decided to uphold the city's red light camera law via a 6-1 decision. A motorist was challenging an ordinance that supposedly duplicated state traffic laws. The ordinance that was passed in 2007 established a red light camera program that put civil penalties in place for those who violate traffic laws. (WVTM13.com)
