2 MBHS Student-Athletes Test Positive For COVID-19

A letter to parents of Mountain Brook High School football players confirms that two players tested positive for COVID-19.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Two Mountain Brook High School student-athletes tested positive this week for COV ID-19. A letter from the school to football team families confirmed the news, and the school says the students have been quarantined.

"The student-athlete did not attend practice today and has entered a period of quarantine," the letter said. "If your child is unwell or if you believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19, it is imperative they do not attend practice. Please communicate with us if you are concerned about your child’s health or safety."

Coaches aid they have been in contact with the Jefferson County Department of Health and are complying with the department's protocol.

Workouts for the football team began a few weeks ago after Gov. Kay Ivey announced the openings of athletic facilities and schools in the next phase of reopening the state's businesses and venues.
