- Abby Garrett and Will Freeman, 'childhood sweethearts' who grew up in the Cherokee Bend section of Mountain Brook, are set to compete for $1 million on "The Amazing Race" tonight during the show's season premiere. Watching the show has become a routine for the young couple. (Alabama NewsCenter)
- Mountain Brook football's junior receiver Clark Sanderson is one of the "the most fearless players" that his coach Chris Yeager has seen around. Yeager points to "a punt return against James Clemens early in the third quarter of the Spartans' second game of the season" as evidence. - Mountain Brook residents were concerned last week after spotting what appeared to be a sick fox on Overhill Road near Watkins Road. A picture of the fox was shared widely on Facebook, with some residents attempting to contact Animal Control. (AL.com)
