MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Several much-needed facilities upgrades in the Mountain Brook school system could begin as soon as this summer. A Village Living report said that the capital improvements were discussed at Monday night's Mountain Brook City Council meeting.

"We hope to start construction as soon as school is out at all six of our sites," Mountain Brook superintendent Dicky Barlow said in his report to the council. "Over the next three years, we have substantial projects, and I think y’all are going to be really proud of the way our schools look."

The school board approved the designs for the projects in October.
