A rally at Crestline Elementary Thursday drew between 400 and 500 people to protest police brutality and the death of George Floyd.
MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — More than 400 people arrived at Crestline Elementary School Thursday to protest the death of George Floyd and police brutality throughout the country. While residents of Mountain Brook and law enforcement braced for the possibility of a violent protest, the event involved no property damage or issues that would have involved police.
Mountain Brook police chief Ted Cook was on hand and said the department had been in contact with the organizers of the event and while there was a police presence at the rally, he said he did not expect any issues.
