Spartans Advance In State Playoffs

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The Mountain Brook Spartans basketball team is headed to the Elite Eight in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Basketball Tournament. The Spartans are looking to repeat as state champions.

Mountain Brook will face a familiar foe in the quarterfinal round in Huffman. The Spartans lost to the Vikings 68-67 during the season, then avenged that loss by beating them in the Area 6 championship game 70-66. The rubber match will be February 20 at 10:30 a.m. in Jacksonville.
