MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - Preparing for the state basketball semifinals is familiar territory for Mountain Brook, as the Spartans will return to the Final Four in Birmingham for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. Mountain Brook will carry a No. 5 national ranking into the BJCC this season, however.

The latest USA Today high school basketball poll has Mountain Brook still ranked fifth in the nation after the Spartans knocked off Vestavia in the state quarterfinals last week. Mountain Brook improved its record this season to 29-3, and Alabama's top-ranked Spartans will move on to play Lee-Montgomery on Thursday, Feb. 28.

The Spartans are ranked nationally just behind IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., who they beat earlier this season 74-67.
