Will Post Office Leave Mountain Brook?
The USPS addressed concerns over where the Mountain Brook Village post office might move.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The United States Postal Service held a public hearing last week to address concerns over the possible relocation of the office currently located in Mountain Brook Village.
The initial announcement by the USPS was that he lease for the Culver Road office is up at its current location due to the redevelopment of Lane Parke. The discussion was that the post office may relocate in phase two of Lane Parke, or possibly be consolidated with the Crestline branch on Montclair Road.
At the hearing, residents expressed concern that the post office would leave the village. According to a report by Village Living, Postal Service Realty Specialist Damian Salazar said per company regulations, the USPS is required to hold a public meeting to allow for community input and feedback if the post office is at any time changing locations. Salazar said they are currently looking for another location, which is required by company regulations if they are not moving back in to the exact same storefront, but the district gave certain boundaries where the new location could be.

The preferred boundaries are listed as south of Jemison Lane, north of Lane Park Road, west of Montevallo Road and east of Cahaba Road.
Salazar said the USPS will be relocating the office temporarily to the Crestline post office location on Montclair Road this June in order to make way for construction for the second phase of Lane Parke. Those who have P.O. boxes at the Mountain Brook Village location will not change their addresses, but the boxes will be moved to the Crestline location and those who use the boxes will be given new keys.
