New Shopping Center Coming to Oneonta

A new 40,000 square foot shopping center is coming to the city of Oneonta and is expected to open in the fall of 2025.

A ground breaking for the new center was held in December of last year with city and county leaders participating.. The new shops, to be located in what will be called The Palisades Shopping Center, will include Marshalls, Five Below, Ulta, Bath and Body Works and Rack Room Shoes.

Oneonta Mayor Richard Phillips told the media, "Not only will it start growth, but I think it will help what is already here."

The project is partnership between the City of Oneonta, Noon Realty and the Blount County Commission.

Space has also been purchased for an un-named grocery store that is expected to locate nearby with construction beginning at a later time and the property also has several out-parcels that can be developed later.

When open, the center is expected to offer over 200 jobs for the area.
