Orange Beach students prepare to head back to school (fox10tv.com) — Families in Orange Beach are getting ready for students to return to classrooms, with teachers spending the summer preparing lessons, classrooms, and activities across the elementary, middle, and high schools. The district’s State of Education report is out, and the community will kick off the year with the Makos on Main parade at The Wharf.

SWDA opens its largest recycling facility in Orange Beach (gulfcoastmedia.com) — Orange Beach now has Baldwin County’s largest Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials, giving residents a new place to drop off glass, electronics, paint, batteries, and household hazardous waste. The SWDA facility expands local recycling options, protects coastal waterways, and supports long-term environmental sustainability as the community continues to grow.

Orange Beach Sportfishing Club Hosts Kenny Vines Memorial Tournament (gulfshoresnews.com) — Anglers and families in Orange Beach can look ahead to the Kenny Vines Memorial Tournament at Tacky Jack’s Downstairs on September 11–12, 2026, with registration already open. The Orange Beach Sportfishing Club is offering multiple offshore categories, junior divisions, and cash options, making this a major fall gathering for local and visiting fishermen along the Intracoastal Waterway.
   

4. CCA Lower Alabama Chapter Returns To The Wharf For 26th Annual Beach Party (obawebsite.com) — Orange Beach residents can now grab tickets for the Coastal Conservation Association’s 26th Annual Beach Party at Heron Pointe at The Wharf on August 22, 2026. With live music, auctions, raffles, and a shrimp boil with open bar, the evening supports marine conservation while offering a lively night out close to home.
   

5. Mobile Bay Oyster Comeback Gains Momentum as We Celebrate National Oyster Day (obawebsite.com) — From right here in Orange Beach, conservation groups are ramping up efforts to restore oyster reefs across Mobile Bay, aiming to return millions of oysters by 2028. Massive limestone “cultch” projects and backyard-style pier gardens are slowly rebuilding habitat, improving water quality, and could eventually supply oysters to local restaurants that Orange Beach residents already frequent for raw Gulf seafood.
