Teen Charged After Shooting Threat At Thompson High School
A shooting threat earlier this month at Thompson High School has resulted in a North Alabama teen facing charges.

ALABASTER, AL - A threat of violence Jan. 10 that caused a lockdown at Thompson High School has resulted in a North Alabama teenager being charged with a Class C felony. Although the threat never manifested itself, an investigation followed, which led law enforcement to the Madison County teen.
Huntsville police assisted in the investigation, said Alabaster Police Chief Curtis Rigney in an Alabama Media Group report. βThreats to schools will never be taken lightly,ββ the chief said. βThe Alabaster Police Department will do everything in its power to ensure the safety of our children.β

The suspect, whose name is not being released, is charged with making a terrorist threat. The crime is a Class C felony.
