Thompson High School Lifts Lockdown

An unsubstantiated threat placed Thompson High School under lockdown, according to the school system, but it was lifted just after 2 p.m.

ALABASTER, AL - Thompson High School has undergone a tumultuous week, as an announcement was made by Alabaster City Schools that the school had been placed on lockdown due to an unsubstantiated threat. The lockdown was lifted this afternoon. This is the second police incident in as many days at the school.

Alabaster school sent a notice via social media about the lockdown, but did not specify the nature of the threat, but police say it involved a phone call threatening violence.

Wednesday, a major drug arrest was made on Thompson campus after an Alabaster School Resource Officer contacted the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force in response to a narcotics investigation. Kamau Diandi Greene of Alabaster, who police say was found to be in possession of Ecstasy, Psilocybin mushroom powder, Xanax, drug paraphernalia, and a quarter pound of Marijuana was arrested. Greene was also reported to be in possession of three firearms on the school campus, one of which was confirmed stolen.
