• South Alabama Land Trust protects 238 acres near Splinter Hill Bog in Baldwin County (gulfcoastmedia.com) — A new 238-acre Dyas Creek Preserve near Splinter Hill Bog will help protect wetlands that feed into the Perdido River, just north of many Perdido-area residents. South Alabama Land Trust says conserving this high-growth area now will safeguard rare pitcher plant bogs, improve downstream water quality, and potentially open future opportunities for guided access and environmental education.
