The Center Point Fire Department was called to a fire Labor Day in Grayson Valley, which resulted in injuries to one victim.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — One person was injured in a house fire in Grayson Valley Labor Day weekend. The man was treated on the scene and released.

The fire broke out Monday and the Center Point Fire Department responded after a call around 11:15 p.m. The home is located in the 1700 block of Sonia Drive.

A Trussville Tribune report said the quick response by Center Point FD prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby house.

"They did a real good job and this house does not appear to be a total loss," said CPFD Chief Gene Coleman. "They made a quick attack. The fire was put out and everybody will go home."

Coleman said firefighters did what he calls "an aggressive interior attack" while battling the blaze. "They went inside with the hose, got upstairs right quick and knocked it down," he said.
