6 JeffCo Sheriff's Office Employees Test Positive For COVID-19

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reported this week that six employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Six employees with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office have tested positive for COVID-19. The JCSO made the announcement this week, saying all are being treated and are quarantined.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the employees are abiding by CDC and Jefferson County Health Department guidelines.

"The Sheriff’s Office is following strict guidelines to ensure that the inmates, our staff and the general public are not subjected to COVID-19," Money said. "We will continue to offer testing to the jail inmates and our employees to further this endeavor."
