72-Year-Old Woman Victim Of Fatal Car Wreck
A wreck near Sylvan Springs resulted in the death of the 72-year-old driver of the vehicle involved.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A one-vehicle wreck in Jefferson County Monday resulted in the death of a 72-year-old woman. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. Monday in the 5300 block of Birmingport Road.
Jefferson Count Sheriff's Office spokesman David Agee said Slyvan Springs Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene first and found the female driver deceased behind the wheel. The vehicle was reportedly still in drive and the driver's foot was still on the accelerator.
Agee said it is possible the driver suffered some type of medical incident before wrecking her vehicle.
