The Birmingham Public Library-Smithfield Branch had an opportunity to provide programming during the Birmingham City Schools' BCS Intersession Days. Birmingham public schools are closed this week, but about 3,000 students took advantage of BCS Intersession Days to catch up on school work. In conjunction with our BPL Fall Reading Initiative: Star Wars Reads Month, we gave Tuggle Elementary School students activity packets to encourage an early love for reading. Huge thanks to Samantha Gaston and Trinity Dix-Patterson for coming up with a creative way to keep the little ones busy!!! Thank you Tuggle Elementary School for having us!!!  We had a Birthday Girl!!!! October babies ROCKKK!!! Check out these photos below of the fun times we had with the Tuggle Elementary students.
