Body Discovered By FedEx Driver Identified As Center Point Man

A 63-year-old Center Point man has been identified as the deceased man discovered last week by a FedEx driver in Lipscomb.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A dead body discovered by a FedEx driver in Lipscomb last week has been identified. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Friday identified the man as 63-year-old Fredrick O’Neal Harris of Center Point.

Harris was found about 1:30 p.m. near the railroad tracks on 15th Street. The driver called 911 and police responded. The victim was in two garbage bags, according to a report. One of the bags covered the lower half of his body and the other covered the top half. His feet were bound with tape, and there was also tape around the outside of the garbage bag at his head and mid-torso areas, as if to keep the garbage bags secured.
