Death Investigation Underway In Sylvan Springs
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 73-year-old woman found severely burned in a home in Sylvan Springs.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 73-year-old woman was found dead and severely burned in a home in the Sylvan Springs community. Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies discovered the woman just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a family member stopped by the home and found the woman dead at her home in the 200 block of Woodland Way and called authorities.
Deputies were informed that the woman was a smoker and had had physical difficulties in recent days, Money said.

No foul play is suspected at this time. The body was transported to the Jefferson County Coroners Office for examination.
